1. WHAT IS DERMAPEN?
Dermapen™ is a medically engineered device that delivers world-leading microneedling procedures. Multiple procedures provide a long-lasting rejuvenation and correction for the face and body skin.

2. HOW DOES DERMAPEN WORK?
The principle behind skin needling (microneedling) has been around for thousands of years. The microfine needles create a virtually painless “controlled injury”. When the body goes to fix that injury, it creates new collagen and elastin within the skin. It’s an effective and natural rejuvenation that offers results within a couple of treatments. It’s safe for all skin types and colours.
3. WHAT MAKES DERMAPEN SO UNIQUE?
Only Dermapen™ uses a specialised spring-loaded cartridge that is automated by an oscillating system, delivering fast, fractional, and virtually painless procedures that are non-ablative. Dermapen’s patented technology delivers vertical channels into the skin minimising damage, downtime, and discomfort. Customising speed and depth for each procedure leads to targeted results.
4. HOW DOES DERMAPEN COMPARE TO OTHER METHODS OF SKIN REJUVENATION?
Dermapen™ procedures are non-thermal and non-ablative. Procedures may be performed on all skin tones reducing any risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or fibrotic scar tissue formation.
5. WHAT'S A DERMAPEN TREATMENT?
Dermapen Treatment™ is the overarching term for the period in which a specific skin concern is targeted with a series of professional Dermapen microneedling procedures, following strict DermapenWorld™ Protocols. The patient is required to support clinical efforts with prescribed at-home skincare Protocols. Dermapen Treatments are designed and proven to get the best results.
6. DO DERMAPEN TREATMENTS HURT?
Of all the microneedling devices in the world, the Dermapen 4™ is far less painful. We don’t even recommend numbing the area beforehand because it’s so comfortable. Our correct DermapenWorld™ Protocols and aftercare are designed to soothe and camouflage any visible redness or sensation of heat. We call it a “lunchtime procedure” as you’re able to carry on with your daily routine immediately afterwards.
7. CAN DERMAPEN TREATMENTS TEAR OR SCRATCH THE SKIN?
No. Dermapen™’s unique vertical needles provide fractional rejuvenation that does not compromise the integrity of the skin. The Advanced Oscillation Vertical Needle™ Technology moves so quickly that the Dermapen effortlessly glides across the skin.
8. ARE DERMAPEN TREATMENTS SAFE?
Yes. Only a qualified practitioner may perform Dermapen clinical procedures under strict sterile conditions. All treatment consumables are single-use and sterile.
9. WHAT'S THE DOWNTIME?
Localised erythema may last up to 2 days post-procedure. COVER RECOVER™ may be used immediately following a procedure to reduce any visible redness. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately after a clinical procedure.
10. HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?
Results typically may be seen after just one clinical procedure. However, cumulative procedures and at-home Protocols may be required to achieve the full desired result. The regenerating process will continue for up to 24 months following a procedure.
11. ARE DERMAPEN TREATMENTS SAFE DURING PREGNANCY?
If you’re pregnant or lactating, we recommend seeking medical permission first.

12. CAN YOU HAVE A DERMAPEN MICRONEEDLING PROCEDURE IF YOU HAVE AN OPEN WOUND?
The Dermapen™ device is designed to tighten, lift, and rejuvenate skin. We don’t recommend using it on an open wound. Wait for the area to heal and then proceed.
13. DO DERMAPEN TREATMENTS LIGHTEN THE APPEARANCE OF DARK CIRCLES UNDER EYES?
Yes! Dermapen Treatments™ work very well for dark circles under the eyes.
14. DO DERMPAPEN TREATMENTS IMPROVE THE APPEARANCE OF SCARS?
Yes! Dermapen 4™ has a feature that treats different types of scars.
15. DOES DERMAPEN IMPROVE THE APPEARANCE OF VEINS?
While Dermapen™ can provide a visual reduction in some telangiectasia, the treatments are not designed to treat or target veins.
16. I HAVE SENSTIVE SKIN, ARE YOUR TREATMENTS SUITABLE FOR MY SKIN?
Yes, Dermapen 4 is safe and effective for sensitive skin.
17. I HAVE PRODUCTS AT HOME, DO I NEED TO USE THE DP DERMACEUTICALS RANGE TO GET RESULTS?
You need to be very careful when needling products into your skin. Our Dp Dermaceuticals™ are the non negotiables when skin needling. They’re designed to support the skin at every stage of a Dermapen Treatment™. Our proven Protocols include combinations of products that target the appearance of your specific concern. All our products have been designed to work in perfect harmony with each other for daily use and during clinical and at-home microneedling procedures.
18. HOW CAN DERMAPEN SUCCESSFULLY TREAT SO MANY DIFFERENT SKIN CONCERNS?

19. WHY IS IT NON-NEGOTIABLE TO USE DP DERMACEUTICALS PRODUCTS BEFORE AND AFTER MICRONEEDLING?
Pre- and post-treatment skincare is essential for all skin resurfacing treatments, including laser, microneedling, microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Using Dp Dermaceuticals™ products recommended by your skin specialist helps strengthen and nourish the skin prior to a procedure. Following any skin enhancement procedure, your skin needs hydration, antimicrobial cleansing, and sun protection to properly heal and give you the very best results. Our starter kits are the ideal way to experience products specially developed for your pre- and post-procedural skincare needs.
20. WHAT'S THE EXPIRY DATE ON YOUR PRODUCTS?
The date on the packaging of Dp Dermaceuticals™ reflects the manufacturing date. The use-by date for our Dp Dermaceuticals is 24 months from opening, and there’s a symbol (like an open jar) on the packaging to indicate this.
21. DO THEY CONTAIN NUT PRODUCTS?
Some of our products contain olive, shea, jojoba or almond oil which are derived from either nuts or seeds. Check with your clinician for further information. Each product has been clinically washed to ensure purity and to reduce any possible reaction to nature’s ingredients.
22. ARE YOUR PRODUCTS MADE WITH NATURAL INGREDIENTS?
We use the very best vitamins, minerals, botanical, natural and, wherever possible, organic ingredients from nature to nourish and hydrate your skin. However, we also believe that the best results are achieved when nature meets modern skincare science. This synergy of plant-based ingredients and clinically proven active ingredients results in products that feel beautiful on the skin but are also effective in reaching the deeper skin layers. 23. ARE YOUR PRODUCTS TESTED ON ANIMALS?
Dp Dermaceuticals™ is firmly opposed to testing products on animals, and endorse the movement within the cosmetic industry to ensure animal testing is banned in the production of cosmetics and raw materials. We ensure our products are completely safe using non-animal approaches. It’s part of our business philosophy to operate in a sustainable and ethical manner in all that we do.
